Silver Bells in the City
2005-2010
During Leslie’s tenure as Executive Director of the Arts Council of Greater Lansing, she led the planning, marketing, and fundraising activities for downtown Lansing's largest one-night festival, Silver Bells in the City, achieving a 20% increase in fundraising revenue and 53% increase in attendance during her leadership. The event, which was initially conceptualized to celebrate the region’s arts and cultural community, grew over the years to feature an electric light parade, downtown building illumination, free admission and entertainment at more than 20 downtown arts venues, annual State holiday tree lighting, and fireworks over the State Capitol. Today, Silver Bells in the City remains a Lansing, Michigan tradition is now coordinated by the Lansing Entertainment and Public Facilities Authority.
