Carnegie Mellon Master of Arts Management Program

2018-2023

In 2018, Leslie joined Carnegie Mellon University as a full-time teaching professor in the Master of Arts Management (MAM) Program, carrying a joint appointment in the College of Fine Arts and the Heinz College of Information Systems, Public Policy, and Management. While at Carnegie Mellon, she designed and delivered a total of eight courses in topics including creative placemaking, public art, museum operations, fundraising, grantwriting, cultural policy, nonprofit management, and exhibition management. In addition, she annually advised 12-14 capstone students on systems change research projects for external clients, and advised 2-3 students each year on an experiential learning initiative which included Future Tenant (a student-led arts exhibition space located in downtown Pittsburgh) and Project PGH (a student-led place-based initiative with pop-ups held at the Pittsburgh International Airport and the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh). She also served as a member of the MAM admissions and curriculum committees.
